Whiteman Park Observatory

Whiteman Park hosts ASWA’s Urban Observatory, unfortunately, development to the north and east has significantly reduced the sky quality to urban skies around Bortle 6/7 and ~19.0 SQM at best but is still a key asset to ASWA to facilite observing and social activities within Perth.

The observatory features a dome with a 12″ SCT setup for visual observing.

The observatory also hosts our regular Star-B-Q evening social events. At these, members and visitors can gather, set up their scopes, observe and socialise after the park has closed. Please see our calendar for the next event.
