Astro Tours of the Kimberley

Greg Quicke’s Astro Tours provides guided tours of the night sky from the exotic pearling town of Broome in Western Australia’s far north. They also conduct outback stargazing adventures of the surrounding Kimberley bush. During the “Big Wet” (January to March) Astro Tours operates a summer program in the state’s South West.

Learmonth Solar Observatory

The Learmonth Solar Observatory is the site of one of six solar velocity imagers in the world-wide GONG (Global Oscillation Network Group) network operated by NOAO (U.S. National Optical Astronomy Observatories). It is jointly operated by IPS Radio and Space Services and by the US Air Force.

Perth Observatory

Perth Observatory is located some 25km east of the city at the head of the picturesque Bickley Valley in the Darling Scarp. Now the sole remaining fully operational State observatory in Australia, the observatory fulfils a vital role in providing astronomical services to the State of Western Australia as well as maintaining a major emphasis on scientific research.
